Benefits of Propane Hiding in Plain Sight at GIE+EXPO (Oct 13)

October 13, 2015 – The Propane Education & Research Council is uncovering benefits of propane fuel already hiding in plain sight for the commercial landscape industry at GIE+EXPO next month in Louisville, Kentucky.

Located at booth No. 7094, PERC will showcase a variety of propane equipment and discuss with landscape contractors the variety of ways the alternative fuel can lead to a lower total cost of operation for their business.

“Propane equipment is helping contractors increase productivity, cut fuel costs, and reduce spills and pilferage, which translates into a lower total cost of operation compared to traditional fuels,” said Jeremy Wishart, deputy director of business development for PERC. “These benefits of propane are hiding in plain sight, and plenty of commercial landscapers are already taking advantage of them. But some commercial landscapers still haven’t stopped to really consider just how much propane fuel can improve the bottom line of a business.”

PERC officials will be conveying benefits of propane for contractors in numerous ways throughout the booth during GIE+EXPO:

Question and Answer – PERC officials will be on hand in the booth to answer questions from contractors who may be interested in operating with propane equipment, but unsure of how to get started. Propane retailers, who help with fuel delivery and take care of any fuel infrastructure needs a contractor may have, will also be in the booth to answer questions.

Cost Calculator – PERC’s cost calculator mobile app will be set up in the booth to help contractors estimate potential fuel savings if they were to convert their operation to propane compared with conventional fuels like gasoline and diesel. PERC will also highlight the stories of contractors who have already seen financial success from transitioning to propane equipment and won more bids as a result.

Equipment on Display – Propane equipment on display in the booth will feature commercial propane mowers, a propane truck, and several propane engines, including:

• Isuzu NPR-HD truck with stake body.
• Exmark 60-inch Lazer Z propane mower with a three-bushel bagger.
• Exmark 60-inch Vantage propane stand-on mower.
• Gravely 52-inch Pro-Stance propane stand-on mower.
• Walker B25p mower.
• Kohler EFI 747cc and 824cc propane engines.
• Engines from Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, and Subaru converted to propane with EnviroGard propane conversion kits.
• A Propane Power Systems propane conversion Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine.
