Landscapes Golf Management has earned multi-year extensions to continue involvement at The Short Course at Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise Valley, Ariz. and Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock, Ill.
Under Landscapes Golf Management’s leadership since 2016, The Short Course has received rave reviews for golf course conditions, resulting in continuous increases in greens fees, rounds played and net operating income. Procurement of pro shop merchandise, golf carts, turf maintenance supplies and equipment, and other products at Landscapes Golf Management’s special pricing also contributed to the high performance. Golf and hotel staff work closely together to package and promote exciting stay-and-play offerings.
Furthermore, Landscapes Golf Management oversaw the course grow-in and build-out of the course maintenance facilities and assisted with the equipment financing package.
A key amenity to Mountain Shadows Resort, the 18-hole, par three course integrates perfectly with other lifestyle activities. Designed in 1961 by Arthur Snyder, it was redesigned by his mentee, Forrest Richardson, and pays homage to the original layout with challenging greens and rugged slopes across distinct holes. Golf.com ranks Mountain Shadows among the “Best Par-3 Courses in America.”

Since assuming its full operation of the private Bull Valley Golf Club in 2018, Landscapes Golf Management developed a long-range strategic plan for club ownership, overhauled agronomic practices, expanded membership offerings and instituted a dues-reset program. In the process, it also initiated CRM usage which contributed to high watermarks for membership, rounds, revenue and EBITDA.
Built on a reclaimed dairy farm in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, the iconic Bull Valley is recognized as one of the Midwest’s most challenging and sensually stimulating golf courses. Contrary to flat prairie land in the region, players relish their journeys through rocky, highland fen meadow to low wetlands across its 7,325 yards from the championship tees. The unique elevation changes are especially felt on the No. 12 tee that sits 1,000 feet above ground level. Golf Digest ranks Bull Valley among its top 15 courses in Illinois alongside Chicago Golf Club, Butler National, Medinah and Olympia Fields.
The Clubhouse is 37,000 square feet with a dramatic two-story fireplace, multiple dining rooms, grill, men’s and women’s locker rooms, member lounge and pro shop. Two banquet rooms accommodate up to 400 guests, and outdoor spaces also host weddings, fundraisers, conferences and other large and intimate social and corporate parties and events.
“We are incredibly pleased with Landscapes Golf Management as it treats our business performance extremely seriously,” says Gary Rabine, CEO of Rabine Group and Owner of Bull Valley. “Members and guests feel a huge sense of belonging and a high level of comfort time and time again no matter the activity in which they participate.”
