February 18, 2015 – ClubCorp has announce its support in the development of GolfForHer.com, a new website from the World Golf Foundation designed to increase women’s participation in the game.
GolfForHer.com – for beginner, junior, recreational and competitive players – offers a wide range of content from golf programs, tips about rules of the game, etiquette and instruction to finding America’s best women-friendly courses and instructors, networking events and news updates from the world of women’s golf.
“Our clubs offer a variety of programming targeted to women golfers of every ability level,” said Cathy Harbin, ClubCorp vice president of golf revenue, who served on the World Golf Foundation’s Women’s Task Force and contributed ideas in creating the site. “’The Golf For Her’ website enhances our ability to reach women by giving them an avenue to discover more about the game and, as a result, improve their comfort and confidence in not only entering the game but also making it a lifestyle.”
With a company-wide focus on growing the appeal and accessibility of the game of golf, ClubCorp clubs offer complimentary clinics, family fun days and a variety of social golf programming, such as Couples’ Night Golf and Nine & Wine. A number of clubs also are piloting programs for beginners who want to further challenge their skills, including league golf with two-person teams, a modified scramble format and limited holes and an evening young professionals’ league that features instruction, limited play and happy hour.
A collaboration of the major entities in golf, GolfForHer.com is designed to attract and support female golfers of all ages and abilities. Contributing organizations include the LPGA, the PGA of America, the PGA TOUR, The First Tee, the USGA, ClubCorp, the Executive Women’s Golf Association, Golf Digest and GOLF 20/20, a subsidiary of the World Golf Foundation.
