(AUGUSTA, Ga.) Chris Spencer has joined E-Z-GO, a Textron (NYSE:TXT) company, as vice president, engineering. Spencer comes to E-Z-GO from its sister Textron company Bell Helicopter, where he served as chief engineer for military programs.
At E-Z-GO, Spencer will be responsible for the entire engineering function, including design of new vehicle platforms, support and refreshment of existing product lines, manufacturing engineering, and design and development of E-Z-GO Genuine Parts and Accessories. He will manage E-Z-GO’s engineering teams in Augusta, Ga. and Bangalore, India.
Spencer had a 23-year career at Bell Helicopter, working in numerous leadership positions in the company’s civilian business and military programs. He most recently served as chief engineer for military programs, overseeing all of Bell Helicopter’s programs for the U.S. armed forces, including the V-22 Osprey, a tiltrotor, vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft designed and built in partnership with The Boeing Company, and the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, an armed reconnaissance helicopter used by the U.S. Army to support ground forces.
Spencer holds a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
