Troon®, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage Saddlebrook Golf and Tennis Resort in Wesley Chapel, Florida near Tampa. Troon will oversee golf operations and membership sales and marketing for the 480-acre property.
Mast Capital, a Miami-based real estate investor, and developer, recently purchased Saddlebrook Golf and Tennis Resort and will soon, together with partner Amzak Capital Management, make a significant capital investment to transform and update the property, including renovations to the resort and golf courses. The resort rests on rolling terrain surrounded by lagoons and cypress trees and was purposely planned as a car-free walking village, ensuring guests can easily walk throughout the entire resort. The resort’s 500 suites are clustered around nine courtyards complete with gardens, stone benches, stone paver walkways, and native Florida landscaping. HEI Hotels is managing the resort and food and beverage operation at Saddlebrook.
“We are excited to partner with Troon at Saddlebrook. We plan to make a significant investment to renovate the resort, with improvements to the golf and tennis experience being an important focus. Our goal is to restore the grandeur of Saddlebrook,” said Mast Capital Managing Director Jordan Kornberg.
Saddlebrook Golf and Tennis Resort offer a host of amenities, including two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses – the Palmer and Saddlebrook courses – 45 tennis courts, a resort-style pool, a fitness center, over 100,000-square-feet of meeting space, and Saddlebrook Prep, an instructional school for aspiring golf and tennis players. Tennis greats Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Jennifer Capriati, Martina Hingis, and Andy Roddick have all trained at Saddlebrook.
In addition to golf and tennis, the property has multiple dining facilities, including T.D.’s Sports Bar, Tropic’s Restaurant, Dempsey’s Too, and a Poolside Bar and Café.
“We are honored to be selected to manage Saddlebrook Resort and look forward to working with Mast, Amzak, and HEI. We will be diligently working to improve golf course conditions, service levels, and product offerings to elevate the experience for the membership and resort guests at the property,” said Troon Director of Operations Zack Vervaecke, PGA.
