Celebrity Charity Tournament at Cowboys Golf Club to Benefit Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation and SknVue

The Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation and SknVue are teaming up to raise awareness and funds for their respective organizations by hosting the Second Annual “Skn in the Game” golf tournament on September 21 at the Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, Texas.  Former Dallas Cowboys stars who played last year included Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Billy Joe DuPree and Everson Walls.

The Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation, established in 2020, is the fundraising entity behind the Payne Stewart Golf Camps & Clinics.  These unique programs provide a complete golf learning experience for kids ages 4-9 years old.  Using unconventional spaces to bring golf to the masses, the camps and clinics make any gym or soccer field a golf learning center to teach children the fundamentals of both golf and life.

“Our goal is to get more kids exposed to the fun side of golf,” said Kelly McCammon, Founder and CEO of the Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation.  “Younger kids, especially from the age of 4 and up, have to first get exposed to golf in recreational settings away from the golf course and in the local neighborhoods.  The beauty of what we do is that we don’t need a golf course to teach the game.  We bring the game to the kids and use modified equipment to teach the basics.”

SknVue, established in 2020, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit focused on educating the importance of health advocacy, especially as it relates to skin cancer.  Skin cancer can be prevented when detected early.  SknVue is introducing a Smartphone App later in 2022 that will allow kids and adults to be informed and track skin changes.  The skin cancer and sun safety education will be provided to all participants in the Payne Stewart Golf Camps & Clinics.

According to Randy Wyant, CEO of SknVue, “We want to help everyone, and especially the golf community, become more aware of the actionable steps that should be taken to ensure their skin wellness.  We are focusing on golf for obvious reasons as the incidence of skin cancer is high among professional golfers, amateurs and weekend golfers who spend many hours in the sun.  All golfers need a plan in place to protect their skin when they head outdoors.”
