Toro announces new line of universal groomers (Mar 1)

March 1, 2015 – Toro has introduced its new universal, bi-directional groomer product line, which it launched at the 2015 Golf Industry Show in San Antonio. The innovative product line brings an all-new feature to the market by offering three drive modes: forward rotation, counter rotation and neutral.

Additionally, the quick implement change-out feature on the new universal groomer provides the technician with an extremely simple solution for switching attachments. These combined features allow superintendents to tailor their turf maintenance practices depending on conditions and seasons. For example, in an effort to create the ideal putting surface, the unit can be disengaged if the operator does not wish to groom or brush a specific area or during a specific time of the year. Additionally, the symmetrical design of the bi-directional groomers accommodates either left or right hand drive.

The new Toro groomers are standardized to fit the Dual Precision Adjustment (DPA) greens mower cutting units, as well as 5- and 7-inch diameter Reelmaster DPA cutting units, to help superintendents customize their mowing experience according to changing needs.

“The standardization of our groomer line is another example of how Toro engineering is driven by the needs and wants of the end-user,” said Helmut Ullrich, senior marketing manager at The Toro Company. “This, coupled with the quick implement change-out feature, allows the superintendent to perform their job efficiently. It also allows greater customization of the playing surface, which ultimately enhances the golfer experience.”

The launch of the new groomer line marks a milestone for Toro as it enters the bi-directional groomer marketplace for fairways. All basic groomer attachments are still available with the new bi-rotational groomers for both greens and fairways. Other new features include the option to incorporate extended front rollers to the groomer configuration to mitigate line marking in soft turf conditions and tool-free directional adjustment to maximize productivity for the operator.

The groomers will be available from Toro’s trusted distribution network beginning in the fall of 2015.
