SUPERthrive® Inventor Celebrates 100th Birthday

Dr. John A. A. Thomson, inventor of world-famous vitamins-hormones solution SUPERthrive®, celebrates his 100th birthday November 23, 2011.

Thomson developed the SUPERthrive® formula in 1939 and founded Vitamin Institute to market and sell it. Seventy-two years later, he is still active in the operations.

After finding the proper balance of SUPERthrive’s 50 vitamins and hormones, Thomson has changed little in the secret formula over the years. The non-toxic, liquid concentrate is guaranteed to be the #1 Activator, Reviver, Trans/planter, Extra Grower, and Perfecter, a guarantee never challenged.

Holding a Ph.D. in biochemistry, Thomson has collected awards and commendation for his lifetime of work. In 1940, SUPERthrive® received the Science & Industry Gold Medal at The Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco. The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lawn & Garden Marketing & Distribution Association came in 2006, and in 2009 Thomson collected Sustainable Environmental Education’s Environmental Awareness Award.

When customers ask how SUPERthrive® helped the U.S. to win World War II, Thomson cites 5 US Government departments, including the Army Corps of Engineers, the Air Force, Navy, the Department of Agriculture, and the Forest Service, that have used SUPERthrive® respectively to: transplant mature trees for defense plant camouflage; plant and sustain low-dust turf landing fields; improve soil conditions where salt interfered with plant success; develop vital drug- and oil-bearing plants domestically; and increase production of necessary guayule rubber.

Dr. Thomson attributes his ambition and vitality to his family upbringing, a fortunate environment, and a mental ability that hit the ceiling on the Standard I.Q. test. Throughout his schooling, he received numerous awards for his essays and debating skills.

His grandfather and great-grandfather were owners of the biggest hotel in Detroit, and both of his parents were successful professionals and top money-raisers for the American Red Cross during World War I. His mother, Florence Antisdel Thomson, actually raised enough money to build an entire Red Cross base hospital in France.

His parents promoted individuality and personal health by reading the works of Allen White, Dr. Kellogg, and Bernarr McFadden and his magazine, “Physical Culture.” Thomson recalls, “My parents even had certified milk delivered to us.”
Vice-President of Vitamin Institute, Patrisha Thomson, is pleased with the interest in Dr. Thomson’s forthcoming 100th year date and looks forward to commemorating his birth date in future years.
When Dr. Thomson is asked about his primary philosophy of life, he sums it up by saying, “My whole idea is to try to leave the world better off for wherever I touch it.”
