Summer Stress Solutions With Nutritional IPM

The Technology

Proven Foliar® products possess several unique characteristics that account for their superior performance. Central to these unique formulations are the proprietary natural plant and organic compounds that chelate and complex the nutrients. Each nutrient is addressed specifically and matched to a specific formulation of natural agents and organic facilitators that assist in the vascular transport of all nutrients, keeping them mobile and available for plant use. The documented performance of the Proven Foliar® line is based on extensive research by our university collaborators.

Nutritional IPM™

One of the more exciting areas of research that Grigg Brothers is currently focusing on is something we pioneered and call Nutritional IPM™ (integrated pest management). Think of Nutritional IPM™ as creating healthy turf plants that require less chemical inputs to withstand pressure from diseases, nematodes, insects and weeds. Nutritional IPM™ is an optimized training program for the turf utilizing specially formulated and targeted nutrients, hormones, and proprietary Elicitor® compounds. This training program results in better performing turf without the added expense of costly chemical protectants and risk to the environment.

In recent studies, the use of Grigg Brothers Foliar Fertilizer products on a program basis has demonstrated outstanding turfgrass performance in the presence of fungal organisms that cause pink snow mold, anthracnose and pythium, as well as damaging nematodes. The products also provide unsurpassed nutrient uptake efficiency that optimizes agronomic performance and visual quality of the turf, thus providing a “value added” component to turf fertility that no other company can match.

Rationale

The primary goal of nutritional IPM is to maintain optimum plant health, particularly during periods of environmental stress, while using pesticides correctly. We accomplish this by maintaining complete and balanced mineral nutrition while using our proprietary Elicitor® Technology to enhance a plant’s resistance to both abiotic and biotic stress. An important objective of our research at Grigg Brothers is to determine the correct tank mix partners, such as fungicides applied at low label rates, to maximize results which mean quality turf, protecting the environment, and saving precious budget dollars.
