Jason Straka, ASGCA (Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design), is commencing his one-year term as President of the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation’s (OTF) Executive Committee in February 2017.
A long-time Trustee on the Foundation’s board, Straka just completed his one year term as the 2016 Vice President and has also served as Treasurer and member of the Foundation’s Education Committee.
“As a strong believer in the mission of the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation, it is with great excitement that I begin my term as the Foundation’s President,” Straka said. “It is an honor to be the first golf course architect to serve in this capacity, and I value the privilege to continue OTF’s legacy of supporting the turfgrass community.”
Established in 1961, the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation was formed to promote the turfgrass industry in Ohio. With an objective to better turf for all, the OTF encourages the further study, research and education of turfgrass science, and speaks on matters of policy affecting the turfgrass industry. For more than 50 years, the Foundation has maintained its focus on providing resources to the turfgrass community and has contributed nearly $5 million to the industry in the form of research grants, gifts and student scholarships. OTF continues to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with members and event attendees from all over the United States and the world.
