SOLitude Lake Management is pleased to announce the company’s placement on the 2018 Best Places to Work in Virginia list. The annual list is created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. SOLitude was awarded 10th place in the medium-sized employer category during a ceremony in February at The Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, VA. This is the company’s fourth year placing.
The 2018 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 companies. This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor employers that go above and beyond in staff benefits, engagement and overall satisfaction.
SOLitude offers its team an array of unique and outstanding benefits in addition to traditional offerings like a 401(k) with company match and comprehensive healthcare options.
SOLitude is committed to providing more than 112 annual hours of professional staff development and training through the ongoing SOLitude University program, which creates regular opportunities to take part in offsite continuing education courses, industry presentations, manufacturer product seminars, and safety trainings. Additionally, SOLitude hosts SOL Summit, an annual all-staff strategy and team-building conference at an exciting beach or resort location. This year’s 4-day event in Orlando, FL was highlighted with inspirational speakers, educational seminars, break-out sessions, a private documentary screening, personalized work style assessments and much more.
Company leadership also strives to make each and every team member feel connected to and responsible for the overall success of the company as it grows. All staff receive a generous profit-sharing bonus each year, and have the ability to earn additional bonuses through internal programs that incentivize positive outcomes and high achievement. In particular, the company SOL Savings program incentivizes each member of the team to take an active role in improving the overall performance of the company, and find ways to save money for both the company and their clients. When employee submitted ideas lead to measurable savings, they are rewarded by receiving 20% of the value of those savings.
SOLitude believes that investing in its team, working constantly to improve staff knowledge, and focusing continually on innovation will ultimately lead to more rewarding experiences for each staff member and ultimately result in better service and overall outcomes for their clients. SOLitude has many programs in place to ensure individual staff members have their voices heard and their feedback considered. SOLitude’s staff Advisory Board convenes twice yearly with leadership to voice thoughts and share ideas for the future success of the company. A program called SOL X Labs serves as an internal innovation incubator, providing opportunities for motivated and top-performing team members to brainstorm and execute ideas for business-development, expanded service offerings, new industry technologies and more.
Through the company’s environmental stewardship and community outreach program, The SOLution, team members are encouraged to volunteer during and outside of work hours and are rewarded for their individual volunteer efforts in the form of gift cards or a company donation to the staff member’s charitable organization of choice. In addition to staff efforts like foodbank backpack programs, grass and tree plantings, river, bay, lake and beach cleanups, dog and cat adoption events, fishing tournaments and outdoor kids’ events, SOLitude hosts several charitable initiatives each year, including the HOLiday Cheer program, Little GOBBLERs Thanksgiving food drive and the Love Your Lake program, which provides a free lake restoration services for a non-profit organization in need. Since the program began in 2012, SOLitude and staff have donated more than $255,000 in goods and in-kind services and contributed 9,457 volunteer hours to local communities across the country.
“SOLitude’s leaders are very focused on cultivating strong team bonds and encouraging a culture that values innovation, ongoing education and community outreach,” said Kevin Tucker, CEO of SOLitude Lake Management. “We are extremely passionate about what we do and it is evident in the success of the company and the happiness of our staff, their families and our valued clients.”
