Soleta Golf Club, the new luxury golf and lifestyle community slated for the Sarasota/Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch markets, announced the hiring of Clay Batson as Director of Grounds.
Batson, who has extensive agronomic and horticultural experience with a focus on golf course and residential environmental management, is recognized as a talented professional with impressive credentials in providing outstanding golf course conditions that has resulted in member satisfaction at top clubs in Florida, including The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and Spa in Jupiter, Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter and the Ritz-Carlton Members Club in Bradenton. Batson additionally served as head superintendent at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Grand Cayman from 2007-2010 and again in 2016-2018.

Batson is the recipient of several industry awards including the 2016 Marriott Golf Property of the Year (Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman), 2019 Marriott Golf Superintendent of the Year (Ritz-Carlton Members Club, Bradenton) and the 2021 Marriott Golf Property of the Year (Ritz-Carlton Members Club, Bradenton).
An attendee of Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, Batson was a golf team member and scholarship recipient (1995-1997). He later transferred and received his B.S.A. in Turfgrass Management from the University of Georgia in 2000. A passionate bass fishing competitor, Batson is a resident of Bradenton where he lives with his wife and two sons.
