Sod Solutions Names Mike Pope Chief Growth and Strategy Officer

Sod Solutions has appointed industry veteran Mike Pope as its new Chief Growth and Strategy Officer. Pope officially stepped into the role on September 12 and will guide key initiatives designed to accelerate the company’s long-term expansion.

Pope brings more than two decades of experience in the turfgrass and green industry, having worked across wholesale, retail, golf, and sports markets. He is well-known for building strong relationships within the industry and for his contributions to expanding sod sales into major retail chains.

Strengthening Core Business Units

In his new position, Pope will focus on advancing Sod Solutions’ three core divisions:

• Turfgrass Licensing – Growing the licensing network by onboarding additional farms and introducing next-generation turfgrass varieties.
• Turf Logistics – Enhancing Sod Solutions’ farm management platform with tools that improve dispatch, scheduling, and overall efficiency for producers.
• Sod Solutions Professionals – Expanding the network of farms and professional installers to meet the rising demand for high-quality turf.

Background and Personal Life

Before joining Sod Solutions, Pope worked alongside Broucqsault in the nursery sector on the West Coast and has since become a respected figure in the turfgrass field. His career spans more than 21 years, highlighted by achievements in both sales growth and industry partnerships.

Away from work, Pope enjoys fishing and flying as a licensed pilot. He and his wife, Leah, have been married for 32 years and are proud parents of two daughters—Emmaline of Kansas City and Ellerie, currently a junior at Arizona State University.
