Sod Solutions Launches Celebration on Tour, a New Original Video Series Showcasing Championship Golf Turf from the Superintendent’s Perspective

Sod Solutions has launched Celebration on Tour, a new original video series that goes inside championship golf courses to highlight the superintendent perspective behind tournament-level conditions. The series follows the Sod Solutions team on the road as they spend time with superintendents at PGA Tour–hosting courses, exploring how elite turfgrass is selected, managed, and prepared under constant pressure.

Celebration on Tour centers on grass, course conditions, and the real-world decisions required to deliver consistency at the highest level of the game. Through candid conversations and behind-the-scenes access, the series brings viewers closer to the agronomic expertise that supports professional golf.

Episode One Now Live: Inside TPC Louisiana

Episode one is now live and features TPC Louisiana, home of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the PGA Tour’s only team event. The episode spotlights Director of Golf Course Maintenance Tyler McCool, who shares insight into year-round tournament preparation, weather-related challenges unique to South Louisiana, and the agronomic demands of hosting a PGA Tour event.

McCool explains why Celebration® Bermudagrass is used on fairways and approaches at TPC Louisiana, citing its ability to withstand heavy traffic, recover quickly from stress, and perform consistently under tournament conditions. Regrassed in 2019, the course relies on Celebration® to push through cooler transition periods, maintain density, and deliver dependable playability during peak spring events.

“A lot of what we do is driven toward the Zurich Classic,” McCool says in the episode. “Once we catch our breath from that year’s event, we start planning for the next one. It’s a year-round process.”

A Superintendent-First Storytelling Approach

Narrated and produced by the Sod Solutions marketing and creative team, Celebration on Tour highlights the people behind world-class playing conditions. The series explores how superintendents balance agronomy, weather, traffic, and television expectations—often months or years in advance—to meet the standards of professional golf.

Throughout the season, viewers will see how Celebration® Bermudagrass performs across climates and venues, and why it has become one of the most trusted warm-season grasses on the PGA Tour.

Upcoming Episodes and Tour Stops

Additional episodes will be released throughout the year as the four-part series continues with stops at other iconic tournament-hosting courses, including:

  • Tiburón Golf Club
  • TPC Sawgrass
  • Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge

Each episode offers behind-the-scenes access to the turfgrass programs supporting some of the most recognized venues in golf.
