Rain Bird Technology Enhances Irrigation Precision and Efficiency at Maridoe Golf Club

Maridoe Golf Club, a premier 36-hole facility in Dallas, Texas, is setting new standards in course management with Rain Bird’s IC System™ and CirrusPRO™ irrigation technologies. Spearheaded by Director of Agronomy Tanner Westbrook, the club’s adoption of these systems highlights the growing shift toward smart, mobile-enabled water management in the golf industry.

Ten years ago, during an extensive course restoration, Maridoe selected the Rain Bird IC System as the foundation of its irrigation infrastructure. The system allowed precise control of individual 752 and 952 rotors and valves—enabling better playability and reliability through pinpoint water distribution. Today, the IC System remains core to Maridoe’s daily operations, having aged with minimal issues and maximum uptime.

More recently, the club upgraded to CirrusPRO™, a central control system that enables real-time adjustments from any device. “Now I can pull out my phone, add a station to a program, or make a station adjustment from anywhere,” says Westbrook. “If my assistant has a problem and I’m out of town, I can pull it up and walk them through it.”

This flexibility translates into greater operational efficiency and improved course consistency. With cloud-based access, geo-location capabilities, and automatic system diagnostics, CirrusPRO provides Westbrook and his team with tools to respond quickly and proactively to course conditions.

For golf course superintendents and club managers, Rain Bird’s integrated solutions offer more than convenience—they represent a shift toward sustainable, data-informed irrigation. By uniting advanced hardware with intuitive software, Rain Bird enables professionals to maintain championship-caliber turf with fewer labor demands and improved water management.
