PGA professional joins McNary Golf Club

The Board of Directors at McNary Golf Club recently announced that PGA Professional Chip Sullivan has agreed to join the McNary Golf Club team as the Director of Club Operations. The chip will begin leading the Golf Club on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Sullivan is a seasoned PGA professional with 30 years of experience in the golf industry, including over 20 years’ experience in golf management. His last assignment was the general manager/director of golf at Royal New Kent Golf Club (Virginia) where he was recruited to prepare the club for re-opening after being closed for 18-months while undergoing a major renovation.

Sullivan has held multiple titles from Teaching Professional, Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, and General Manager at a wide variety of golf clubs including fully private, semi-private and public courses in Virginia, South Carolina, and Mississippi.

With his background in managing all aspects of golf club operations, Sullivan has a proven track record of member engagement and enjoyment, growing membership, attracting tournaments and outings, and strong junior golf programs.

“The Board of Directors is excited about the caliber of talent Chip brings to McNary Golf Club. We are confident that Chip will help our golf club have a thriving future and remain a cornerstone of the Keizer community,” said McNary Golf Club President Jeff Jones.

Sullivan is also an accomplished player having qualified to play on both the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. He won the 2007 PGA Professional National Championship at Sunriver Resort. This qualified him to play in the prestigious PGA Championship.

Sullivan has played in nine majors in his career with his best finish being a 31st place finish at the 2004 PGA Championship.

Sullivan is a Class “A” member of the Professional Golf Association of America and has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in marketing from the University of Mississippi.

When asked about becoming the Director of Club Operations, Sullivan said, “I want everyone to know that I am thrilled to join the team at McNary and become a part of its longstanding tradition. I can’t wait to get to Keizer, start meeting everyone and pursue the many opportunities McNary Golf Club presents. My wife Kari and I look forward to becoming part of the greater Keizer/Salem community.”
