Performance Nutrition, a division of LidoChem, Inc., recently submitted an application to the US Environmental Protection Agency for registration of a new “green” product called Varnimo. Upon approval, Varnimo will be used as a biological fungicide, nematode suppressant and plant growth regulator (PGR) for use on agricultural crops, turf and ornamentals.
Performance Nutrition produces environmentally friendly fertilizers, soil amendments, surfactants, disease control products and other “green” turf and crop management products and programs. Varnimo will be used alone or as part of an Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM).
“Our goal at Performance Nutrition is to introduce sustainable, environmentally friendly products that help farmers increase yields and grow food more effectively, and that help landscapers and turf managers to maintain healthy green spaces,” said LidoChem, Inc. president Don Pucillo. “We are excited to enter the registration process with the EPA in order to bring this much-needed product to market.”
