New Golf Director Drives Big Plans For Award-Winning Midwest Golf Resort

Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa, a recipient of the 2019 and 2020 Stella Award for “Best Midwest Golf Resort” continues to drive the ultimate golf experience in the Midwest with the recent announcement of the hiring of Michael E. Weiler, a PGA golf professional and an industry veteran who will take on the role of director of golf.

Weiler’s 35 plus years in the golf industry and 32 years as a PGA Member, brings a deep history of golf operations at major resorts as well as private golf clubs including Evergreen Country Club in Elkhorn, Wis., Country Club Estates Golf Course in Fontana, Wis., Bonita Bay Club in Bonita Springs, Fla., Bay Colony Golf Club in Naples, Fla., The Club at Wynstone in North Barrington, Ill. to name a few in which he held key positions including PGA head golf professional and PGA golf director and general manager. 

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, a suburb of Glenview, Weiler’s inspiration to become a golf professional came from his father, Ken, who served the Park Ridge Country Club as their head golf professional for 35 years.  

“His steady guidance and counsel provided me with a foundation of service for my career as a PGA golf professional which I have employed at the unique and varied club facilities I have been fortunate to serve in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida,” said Weiler. 

As a golf director at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa, Weiler will focus daily on resort guest and member golf experiences, instruction for golfers of all skill levels, tournaments, and outings.
