The National Golf Foundation (NGF) … the industry-leading provider of information and insights into the business of golf … has launched the American Golf Census to count the country’s estimated 27 million golfers.
The American Golf Census will improve the industry’s marketing and promotional capabilities, stimulating rounds played, and equipment and incremental sales locally. Additionally, information about golfers obtained from the Census will allow policymakers to better understand how golf enhances the lives of millions of Americans with various demographics.
The Census presents golfers with a unique opportunity to support the game. For participating in the Census, every golfer is automatically entered into a sweepstakes …the largest in the history of golf … to win more than $100,000 in prizes. They include equipment from Callaway, Nike Golf and TaylorMade, dream vacations to Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Scotland and Ireland, and golf instruction at the ANNIKA Academy in
Orlando, Florida.
“The American Golf Census is extremely important to the game’s future,” says Dr.Joseph Beditz, President & CEO of the NGF. “While the Census takes less than two minutes to complete with the possibility to win fantastic prizes, the information supplied will have positive, far-reaching effects in support of the game we love.”
The Census is being promoted through print advertising, e-marketing, direct mail, posters and websites, including American Golf Census’ Website.
Golf courses and other golf-related businesses promoting the Census with links on their websites will build their own, qualified golfer databases. The NGF will provide them with complete information on all Census registrants originating from their websites.
