Naples Lakes Country Club to Renovate Golf Course

Naples Lakes Country Club has recently announced that its members have approved a $3.2 million renovation of the Arnold Palmer-designed championship golf course. The last round was played at the end of April with completion of the new course is expected in November 2017.

NLCC is the only Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Collier County. To maintain this unique identity and designation, the club will work closely with The Arnold Palmer Design Company during the renovation process. Wadsworth Construction Company is handling the construction. Since 1958, they have built over 750 golf courses in 44 states, including Augusta National.

Added Duke Bowen, NLCC Director of Golf and PGA Master Professional, “This is a complete golf course renovation. When completed, we will have a brand-new golf course. Major phases will include reshaping the fairways, building new green complexes enlarging and leveling all tee complexes, improving and expanding our practice facilities, and replacing all of the cart paths. The end result will be a pristine golf course, with improved drainage and more character. The plan is for the golf course to have a similar slope and course rating to the original design yet be more playable for golfers of all skill levels while remaining a challenge for elite players.”

The entire ‘wall-to-wall’ renovation will be completed at one time, instead of in phases, which was preferred by the membership, resulting in only one interruption. A year in the planning process, the membership met with the Arnold Palmer firm to develop a conceptual plan that would make the new course fun for golfers of all skill levels while building a more contemporary ageless styled course.
