NanoOxygen Systems Highlights Successful Installations at Three Golf Facilities

NanoOxygen Systems has announced the successful startup of three new ultrafine bubble irrigation water treatment systems at golf facilities in Florida and South Carolina. The projects demonstrate how ultrafine bubble technology can significantly improve irrigation pond water quality while helping courses address common challenges such as potable water usage, salinity management, and high iron levels.

According to the company, the installations are producing irrigation water quality more than three times better than typical rainwater through the use of ultrafine bubble technology that increases dissolved oxygen levels and improves water chemistry.

The company also recognized its installation team—including Idayl Daly, Lofton Miller, Jake Trimble, and Ralph Kepple—for their role in launching the new systems.

Fisher Island Club, Fisher Island, Florida

At Fisher Island Club, NanoOxygen Systems partnered with course leadership to reduce reliance on potable water for irrigation.

The club’s ultrafine bubble system works in combination with paspalum turfgrass to allow the golf course to safely substitute brackish water for potable water. The result is a reduction in potable water use of more than 50 percent while maintaining turf quality and playability.

Old Barnwell, Aiken, South Carolina

Old Barnwell faced a different challenge: irrigation water with high iron content.

Elevated iron levels can reduce the effectiveness of pesticides and other turf management products. NanoOxygen Systems installed its ultrafine bubble system to increase dissolved oxygen levels and filter soluble iron from the irrigation supply.

The treatment process reduced iron levels from more than 3.5 parts per million to less than 1 part per million, improving water quality and supporting more effective turf management programs.

Interlachen Country Club, Winter Park, Florida

Interlachen Country Club is another facility that has implemented the NanoOxygen ultrafine bubble system to enhance irrigation water quality.

The technology improves dissolved oxygen levels in irrigation ponds and helps maintain cleaner water conditions that support healthier turf and more efficient course maintenance operations.

Improving Irrigation Water Quality

Ultrafine bubble technology works by infusing extremely small oxygen bubbles into water sources such as irrigation ponds. These bubbles remain suspended in the water longer than conventional aeration systems, allowing them to increase dissolved oxygen levels and improve water chemistry.

Higher dissolved oxygen levels can help:

  • Reduce algae growth and odors in irrigation ponds
  • Improve filtration of certain dissolved minerals
  • Enhance overall water quality used in turf irrigation

For golf course superintendents managing environmental pressures, water restrictions, or challenging water chemistry, technologies that improve irrigation water quality can play an increasingly important role in maintaining healthy turf conditions.

NanoOxygen Systems says the recent installations highlight the growing interest among golf facilities in advanced water treatment solutions that support both environmental stewardship and operational efficiency.
