January 8, 2015 – In the early-2000s, The Dragon at Nakoma Golf Resort was built to exalt and encompass its crowning jewel: the only golf clubhouse Frank Lloyd Wright ever designed. When it opens for the season on April 25, 2015, new updates and state-of-the-art accommodations will be unveiled, keeping to head golf professional Jon Jaress’ ongoing mission to keep the course in top player-friendly form.
When Robin Nelson and Patty Sheehan designed The Dragon, the naturally occurring mountain terrain revealed a course that would bring out both the heroes and the strategists, and embrace the picturesque penalty possibilities. They equipped each of the 18-holes on the par-72 championship course with five tee boxes to allow any level of player the best day possible. Since its inception, keeping the course meticulously maintained and consistently updated have been focal points.
Welcoming golfers in 2015 will be new sand in each bunker, completion of updates to the drainage system, renovations to select holes, plus an e-commerce site at NakomaGolfResort.com offering ease of purchase for course products, rounds and packages.
