Marriott Golf, one of the world’s premier golf operators, today announced that it has assumed management responsibilities at MetroWest Golf Club, an award-winning 18-hole Championship golf course located in Orlando, Fla. With this agreement, MetroWest Golf Club, a Robert Trent Jones Sr. Signature course, joins Marriott Golf’s elite portfolio of golf courses in Central Florida, which includes The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes; Hawk’s Landing Golf Club; Grande Pines Golf Club; Falcon’s Fire Golf Club and Grande Vista Golf Club, also home to the acclaimed Faldo Golf Institute.
In this capacity, Marriott Golf will oversee all golf club operations, including the club membership program, golf course maintenance, and overall golf programming. To fall in line with Marriott’s commitment to environmental stewardship, plans call for MetroWest to pursue certification through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, and any future green-friendly programs adopted by Marriott Golf.
Recognized as one of the premier public golf courses in the Orlando area, MetroWest offers golfers of all skill levels a fair, yet challenging test of shotmaking. With 100 foot elevation changes, along with expansive bunkers strategically placed throughout the 7,051 yard layout, this pristine golf course is not the typical Florida design. Complete with aesthetically pleasing spring-fed lakes, mature native trees, and large, undulating greens strategically surrounded by sculpted bunkers, strategic shot making is at a premium.
“Adding a Robert Trent Jones Sr. Signature layout to our already strong portfolio of golf courses in Central Florida is truly exciting,” said William Nault, Vice President, Marriott Golf. “MetroWest is a great golf course and we are excited to bring Marriott Golf expertise to this fine public facility and begin developing new programs for area golfers and golfing travelers.”
