Landscapes Unlimited Begins Restoration of Award-Winning Osprey Meadows Golf Course at Tamarack Resort in Idaho

Development and construction company Landscapes Unlimited has begun restoration work at the award-winning, 18-hole championship Osprey Meadows Golf Course at Tamarack Resort, 90 miles north of Boise, Idaho.

In conjunction with the course’s original architects from Robert Trent Jones II, Landscapes Unlimited is bringing to life the reimagination of several holes to enhance playability and variety.  In addition to construction, Landscapes Unlimited is overseeing grassing and seeding, and irrigation on new holes.  While the course’s overall layout largely remains – replete with stunning mountain, meadow and lake views – a new, par-3 19th “gamblers” hole is for players to settle friendly wagers.

The course – which opened in 2005 and was in operation until 2015 – is scheduled to re-open to the public in summer 2023 and the driving range in summer 2022.

During its heyday, Osprey Meadows racked up awards from GOLF Magazine (Top 10 New Courses, Top 100 Courses), Golf Digest (#1 Public Course in the U.S.) and Golfweek (Top 100 Resort Courses).

Built on land preserved in its natural condition, Osprey Meadows looked mature from the start.  Lakes, streams, wildflower meadows, wetlands and groves of aspen characterize the front nine while the back nine consists of higher ground punctuated by stately ponderosa pines.  Doglegs, split fairways, wetland cross hazards, dramatic waterfalls and occasional island-style greens and fairways, as well as bridges and boardwalks, offer excitement and fairness to golfers of all skill levels.

Elevation changes are aplenty and fit for Tamarack Resort that operates as a world-class ski venue in the winter.

“It’s a thrill to help reinvigorate an already stout golf course,” says Dave Linngren, Vice President-West Region of Landscapes Unlimited.  “Tamarack Resort is the ultimate, four-seasons resort to play and live in Idaho and it’s no wonder golfers, skiers and others are making it their primary and getaway home.”

“This is another historic moment at Tamarack,” says Scott Turlington, President of Tamarack Resort.  “It’s not often that you get a second chance to make a first impression, but we have that rare opportunity with the return of Osprey Meadows.”
