When installed, the covers create a shallow hole, allowing players to putt out and easily retrieve their ball by hand or putter without touching any part of the cup or flag.
The COVID Covers are easy to install and remove; they work by sitting on the top lip of any inserted regulation or putting green cup. Landmark’s COVID Covers are an alternative to putting out by hitting a cup that has been raised above the ground with the ball, a method recommended by the United States Golf Association (USGA). Though the USGA’s raised-cup method allows for contactless ball retrieval, it also enables some putts to count that normally would not and creates challenges for grounds crews that maintain the greens. COVID Covers let golfers play the game as they normally would.
