Kubota Tractor Corp. Commemorates Two Million Units Sold In The U.S. (Oct 7)

October 7, 2015 – Kubota Tractor Corp. announced it has sold its two millionth retail unit in the United States. The B2320DTN-1 tractor was sold by Kubota dealership Moen Machinery Co. in Gresham, Ore., to customer Don Schmidt Nursery, both of whom were recognized by Kubota executives in a special ceremony. This historic sale was achieved in a shorter span of time than any of the company’s previous milestone sale events, demonstrating Kubota’s accelerated growth in the U.S. over the last few years.

“We have been very focused on growing our business here in the U.S., making strategic investments in infrastructure, processes and personnel,” said Masato Yoshikawa, president and CEO of Kubota Tractor Corporation. “Today’s milestone event is a great indication that we are succeeding in building our brand, and that we’re doing the right things to meet the needs of both our dealers and customers.”

Today’s ceremony was held at Don Schmidt Nursery in Boring, Ore., and was attended by the owners and general manager of the nursery. “Finding out that we had purchased Kubota’s two millionth unit sold in the U.S. was quite a surprise, and certainly an honor,” said Eric Schmidt, president of the nursery. “Given that we’ve been Kubota customers for decades and have several in operation at our nursery, it’s very exciting to be a part of this historical Kubota event.”

Founded in 1939 by Don Schmidt, the 200-acre nursery has been family-owned and operated for 76 years. Specializing in Japanese maple, dogwood and flowering cherry trees, the nursery cultivates its stock using sustainable, dry land farming techniques to produce stronger plants capable of enduring greater environmental stress.

Long-time Kubota dealer Moen Machinery was also recognized during the ceremony for their part in the sale of the historic unit. “We’ve been a Kubota dealer since 1973, just a year after KTC was founded in the U.S.,” said Greg Moen, dealer principal of Moen Machinery. “As Kubota’s business has grown over the years, so has ours. It’s been a privilege to serve great customers in our community like Don Schmidt Nursery, and we’re proud to be a part of this significant milestone.”
