Kioti – Atlantic Farm Focus Pink tractor fundraiser to benefit many 05/05/2014

Funds raised through ticket sales on a limited edition bright pink (KIOTI CS2410 Sub Compact) tractor will help support several charitable organizations in the (Southwest Nova) region.

The Yarmouth Rotary Club will be donating $10,000 to Daffodil Place/The Lodge That Gives, where 25 per cent of the users are from southwestern Nova Scotia and notably Yarmouth County.

The Yarmouth Hospital Foundation will receive 25 per cent for the Dr. Edwin Janke Cancer Centre. The balance of ticket sales will be used to continue the Yarmouth Rotary Club’s local service projects such as breakfast programs and Meals on Wheels.

Kioti Tractor and Tri-County Tractor donated the tractor for the fundraiser.

Last year Kioti tractor dealerships throughout Canada were each allotted one week to display the tractor in their area to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research. The dealership that raised the most money received the tractor.

Tri-County Tractor, owned by Aldric Robicheau, accomplished the feat by raising $4,609, over five days last April (2013) with the tractor at the Atlantic Superstore.

On the first day it went on display Robicheau was admitted to hospital with cancer. This January he finished his last treatment for melanoma.

“This benefit has been near and dear to my heart,” he said.

The tractor is a 4×4 diesel, with a front-end loader, mower deck and hydrostatic.

Tickets are $10 each or three for $25 and are available from any Rotarian, MLA Zach Churchill or by calling Tri-County Tractor at 902-749-1416. Draw date is June 23, 2014.
