Jacobsen Reports Another Year of Double-Digit Sales Growth

Jacobsen, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today that it increased global sales of its full line of quality turf equipment 13.7 percent in 2013. This marks the second straight year the company saw double-digit sales growth.

In addition to global sales being up nearly 14 percent, 68 percent of Jacobsen’s North American sales territories saw year-over-year sales growth.

Jacobsen says the increase is partly the result of significant investments the company made in additional sales staff, customer support, dealer presence and new products.
“In 2013, we continued to make investments in all areas of our business,” said Ric Stone, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Jacobsen. “We increased our sales and support staff, expanded our dealer network, and launched several new exciting products including the LF510™ large area reel mower the new AR522 contour rotary mower and the all-new AR722T™ contour rotary mower.

The new AR722T™ contour rotary mower boosts productivity with class-leading power, exceptional contour following and cutting-width flexibility. The new mower is designed to maintain intermediate golf roughs; green and tee surrounds; and sports and recreation fields.

Jacobsen has continued its expansion strategy into 2014, announcing the acquisition of Dixie Chopper earlier this month. Dixie Chopper is a Coatesville, Indiana-based manufacturer of zero-turn radius mowers for the commercial and residential markets.

In 2014, Jacobsen also plans to add to its sales force, launch additional product enhancements and innovations, and work with channel partners to expand and improve sales and service.

“Our growth is the direct result of the investments we continue to make on the customer-facing side of the business,” said David Withers, President of Jacobsen. “Our success is intrinsically tied to our customers’ success and we remain wholly committed to providing a quality product and world-class service and support.”
