Jacobsen® Introduces Eclipse 2 ELiTE Walking Mower

Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, introduces its new Jacobsen® Eclipse 2 ELiTE walking mower, which combines Jacobsen’s renowned quality of cut with a fully electric, lithium-powered drivetrain that greatly reduces noise and maintenance and eliminates greenhouse emissions.

The Eclipse 2 ELiTE is powered by a fully electric drivetrain utilizing Samsung SDI lithium batteries – the same proven technology in use in tens of thousands of Jacobsen mowers, Cushman® utility vehicles and E-Z-GO® golf cars around the world. This technology enables the Eclipse 2 ELiTE to mow greens, tee boxes and approach areas silently, without disturbing golfers or neighbors on the course. Compared to gas-powered models, the Eclipse 2 ELiTE reduces noise levels for bystanders by up to 60 percent, and its low noise output eliminates the need for operators to use hearing protection. Without a gas engine, the Eclipse 2 ELiTE also reduces hand-arm vibration for operators by 40 percent, and removes the risk of harmful fluid leaks, which can cause turf damage.

The Eclipse 2 ELiTE features a programmable frequency-of-clip system that ensures precise cuts by dynamically adjusting reel speed based on the mower’s ground speed. The system enables operators to achieve double-cut quality in a single pass, with enhanced control and consistent performance regardless of terrain. The mower’s floating head, featuring an independent front roller, carries the weight of the mower and basket, ensuring that the cutting head is unaffected by a basket full of clippings or an inexperienced operator. The Eclipse 2 ELiTE offers the lowest cutting heights without scalping, even on undulating greens, and can be easily converted to verticut for added versatility. The Eclipse 2 EliTE is available with 18, 22, and 26-inch cutting heads.

With zero-maintenance batteries and advanced onboard diagnostics, the Eclipse 2 ELiTE is also designed to minimize maintenance. The onboard controller allows operators to easily monitor mower performance in real time, including system voltage, reel RPM, mow speed, frequency of clip, and fault displays. The Eclipse 2 ELiTE also has fewer belts and parts than conventional gas-powered mowers to simplify service.

A range of available options and accessories allows operators to customize the Eclipse 2 ELiTE to the specific needs of their course. An optional LED headlight allows for operation in low-light situations. Other available options and accessories include a groomer, fine bristle brush, and multiple bedknife options.
