Jacobsen, a Textron (NYSE: TXT) Company, helped play a key role last week’s PGA Championship of Canada, held at Country Hills Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta.
Set in the spectacular hillside of the Sandstone Valley in Calgary, Country Hills Golf Club is a visually stunning 36-hole golf course with perfectly manicured turf. Superintendent Scott MacArthur and his crew worked hard to prepare for the 2012 PGA Championship of Canada and the players took note.
“The greens were Stimping at eleven feet all week,” said MacArthur. “The course looked great and the players were very happy with the conditions.”
Since starting at Country Hills in 1999, MacArthur has been using Jacobsen equipment to maintain the turf. His team currently uses the Cushman Truckster utility vehicle, Jacobsen LF-550 fairway mowers and Greens King IV and ECLIPSE 322 riding greens mowers, all supplied by local Jacobsen dealer Clark’s Supply & Service Ltd.
“I like the Jacobsen equipment and our operators like them as well, they’re great machines,” said MacArthur. “We especially like the ECLIPSE 322 riding greens mower, it’s a very flexible machine. When we use it on our greens, a good operator can create the same striped look as when we walk them.”
“Superintendent Scott MacArthur and his team are doing a wonderful job in Calgary,” said David Withers, President of Jacobsen. “Working together, we helped deliver world-class conditions for the PGA Championship of Canada.”
