July 15, 2015 – Jackson native Dan Lusty is Jackson County’s most recent hire as the new golf course superintendent at Cascades Golf Course.
Lusty, a Lumen Christi High School and Michigan State University graduate, comes from Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, New York. His previous experience includes Shady Canyon Golf Club in California, the Jackson County Club and Lakeland Hills Golf Course in Jackson County.
Lusty is “pleased to return to Jackson and to manage an iconic course from his hometown,” a Jackson County press release reads.
“The parks department is excited to have him and to see the great improvements Dan can make to one of Jackson’s finest golf venues,” Parks Director Scott Robbins said in a prepared statement.
Lusty holds a degree in crop and soil sciences and turf grass management. He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
