GCSAA names Ron Prescott as Southeast regional field representative

Ron Prescott has been named the field staff representative for the Southeast region of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

Prescott joins the GCSAA staff from A.C. Read Golf Course at NAS Pensacola in Florida, where he has served as superintendent since 2012. Prior to A.C. Read Golf Course, he was superintendent at Glenlakes Golf Club in Foley, Ala., and Shalimar Pointe Golf & Country Club in Shalimar, Fla.

“I’m incredibly honored to join GCSAA as the Southeast Field Staff Representative,” Prescott said.  “After more than 30 years as a proud member, this opportunity allows me to give back to the association and industry that have meant so much to me. I look forward to connecting with members and chapters throughout the region and supporting the future of our profession.”

Prescott is a 30-year member of GCSAA. He is a current member and past president of the Gulf Coast Golf Course Superintendents Association and holds an associate’s degree in turf and recreational management from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, Miss. He and his wife Mandi have two children, Leighton and Ella Claire.

Beginning on July 28, Prescott will be the GCSAA liaison from his home office in Pensacola for GCSAA-affiliated chapters in Alabama, the Florida panhandle, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. GCSAA has nine regional field staff members who maintain direct communication with 94 affiliated chapters in North America.
