Fallen Oak Invitational Showcases Fazio Golf Masterpiece

The nation’s top collegiate golfers will converge on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the 3rd Annual Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, October 18–20, 2025. The tournament, co-hosted by Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss, will be played on the Tom Fazio–designed Fallen Oak Golf Course, a masterpiece that embodies the very best of golf and Gulf Coast charm.

Recognized by Golf Digest, Golfweek, and Golf Magazine as Mississippi’s top course, Fallen Oak is the crown jewel of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, stretching over 7,400 yards of rolling terrain shaded by centuries-old live oaks, magnolias, and pecan trees. Designed exclusively for guests of the Beau Rivage, the course blends natural beauty and strategic brilliance—Fazio at his finest—with dramatic elevation changes and views of the De Soto National Forest.

“Fallen Oak is one of those rare courses that feels timeless,” said Chris Malloy, Ole Miss Golf Coach. “It’s the perfect stage for collegiate golf’s next generation of champions.”

The field features 14 elite programs, including seven teams from this year’s NCAA Championships—among them No. 4 Ole Miss, No. 8 Illinois, No. 10 LSU, No. 16 Tennessee, and No. 17 Alabama. The 54-hole tournament tees off with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, and concludes Monday, October 20. Live scoring is provided by Scoreboard powered by Clippd.

Spectators can expect a festive College Game Day atmosphere with tailgating, team colors, and family-friendly activities near the finishing hole, where the legendary Ole Miss Grove will be re-created. The event is free and open to the public, offering a rare chance to watch the country’s finest amateur golfers compete on one of its most stunning venues.

“This event not only brings top-tier talent to the Gulf Coast—it showcases one of the most beautiful golf courses in America,” said Billy Thornton, Chairman of the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Foundation, which funds the Invitational. “Fallen Oak represents everything great about Southern golf—elegance, challenge, and hospitality.”
