FALLEN OAK COMPLETES ENHANCEMENT PROJECT (Sept 5, 2014)

September 5, 2014 – MGM Resorts newly-renovated Fallen Oak will reopen for play today. Fallen Oak, one of the country’s most exclusive golf courses, temporarily closed this summer for course enhancements and has reemerged more breathtaking than ever. The original course architect Tom Fazio oversaw the project which involved regular infrastructure maintenance, as well as strategic improvements to enhance the golf experience.

Set in an oasis on the edge of the DeSoto National Forest, Fallen Oak will offer golf with traditional fine grasses, wide fairways and massive greens. Fazio has worked his magic once again and uplifted the award winning course, perennially ranked among the top courses in the country and recently named 30th on the “Top 100 Courses you Can Play” by GOLF Magazine.

MGM Resorts International remains committed to maintaining and improving Fallen Oak’s elite world- class golf experience. The newly-remolded course is more player-friendly for the average to high handicap golfer and more strategic for the good golfer. The enhancement project involved the reshaping and movement of bunkers. With more than 20 bunkers removed, the remaining bunkers have been rebuilt using state-of-the art construction techniques and materials creating a much more strategic course. In addition, 15 of the hallmark live oak trees were repositioned to add to the Fallen Oak experience. With these changes, guests can expect the same world-class golf experience and superior service that distinguishes Fallen Oak from other courses.

“This is the once-in-a-lifetime site every golf course designer dreams of: rolling greens overlooking more than 4,000 stately oaks, magnolias and other hardwood trees, a developer willing to build golf just for the love of the game, no homes, no hotel, no other development around. Just golf on sand, golf as it was truly meant to be,” said course designer Tom Fazio. “The new course design truly harnesses the definition of golf. Fallen Oak will serve up a unique golf experience that will keep you coming back for more.”

“We are thrilled to unveil the newly enhanced Fallen Oak, not only to the guests of Beau Rivage but to the golfing world,” stated Fallen Oak General Manager David Stinson.”We know Fallen Oak will continue to be a special golf experience and are all anxiously awaiting its official reopening.”

Fallen Oak is available exclusively for guests of Beau Rivage. Greens fees for this elite MGM Resorts International golf experience are $200. To make reservations, call (877) 805-4657 or visit www.beaurivage.com.
