Environmental Institute for Golf supported by eight GCSAA chapters

Eight affiliated chapters of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) have recently made donations to GCSAA’s philanthropic organization, the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), in support of its research-based activities.

The contributing chapters include: Everglades GCSA, Heart of America GCSA, Kansas GCSA, Michigan GCSA, GCSA of New Jersey, Old Dominion GCSA, Peaks & Prairies GCSA, and Tennessee GCSA.

“These chapters are the prime example of how our industry is working together to foster sustainability,” said GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans. “Their generosity is vital to furthering the research, awareness, education and scholarships that the EIFG supports. We thank them all for their gifts.”

The Everglades GCSA, covering the Naples, Fla., area, contributed $7,500 and attained Platinum Tee Club status for the 15th consecutive year. The Platinum Tee Club is the giving club for organizations that contribute a minimum of $5,000 annually. The Everglades GCSA is also recognized at the Governor’s Club level in the cumulative giving program, which recognizes organizations that have contributed between $50,000 and $99,999 to the EIFG since 1987.

With another $5,000 gift to the EIFG, the Heart of America GCSA joins the Platinum Tee Club for the 19th consecutive year. The Heart of America GCSA, which is composed of members from the metropolitan Kansas City region, is recognized at the Presidential Club level in the EIFG’s cumulative giving program, which recognizes organizations that have contributed between $100,000 and $249,999 to the EIFG since 1987.

The Kansas GCSA, established in 1949, donated $500 to the EIFG.

With a $1,000 contribution, the Michigan GCSA is now recognized as a member of the EIFG’s Golden Tee Club, the annual giving club level for donors who contribute between $1,000 and $4,999 annually to the EIFG.

The GCSA of New Jersey’s $5,000 donation to the EIFG also attains Platinum Tee Club status. The GCSA of New Jersey is also recognized at the Executive Club level in the EIFG cumulative giving club for donors who have contributed $25,000-$49,999 since 1987.

The Montana-based Peaks & Prairies GCSA contributed $500 to the EIFG. The association membership comes primarily from Montana and Wyoming.

The Old Dominion GCSA, based in Virginia donated $1,000 to the EIFG. This gift also establishes the ODGCSA’s membership in the Golden Tee Club.

The Tennessee GCSA contributed to the EIFG with a $500 gift.
