E-Z-GO MPT 800 Upgraded with Precision Drive System Technology

AUGUSTA, GA (May 6, 2009) — E-Z-GO, a Textron (NYSE:TXT) Company, announces that its MPT 800 electric turf-maintenance vehicle is now available with the company’s proven Precision Drive System, allowing golf courses and resort facilities to tailor the vehicle’s performance characteristics to the unique topography and terrain of their location.

The 300-amp Precision Drive System (PDS), long used in E-Z-GO’s trusted TXT fleet-golf car, has separate programmable settings for mild inclines, steep hills or flat terrain. Each setting tailors the vehicle’s acceleration, speed and regenerative braking characteristics to meet the unique demands of a facility’s topography.

The system allows operators to help ensure that a vehicle is used safely, and with maximum energy efficiency, regardless of the facility’s environment.

“PDS technology has proven its worth for years in our TXT fleet-golf product in the form of increased performance and energy efficiency for our customers,” said Mike Parkhurst, Vice President of Sales for E-Z-GO. “We are excited to be able to respond to our customers’ needs by providing this unique technology, exclusive to E-Z-GO, in the popular MPT 800 vehicle.”

In addition to the PDS model, the MPT 800 is also available with a 13 hp Kawasaki gas-powered engine with hemispheric combustion chamber, providing increased horsepower and climbing ability with reduced emission and greatly increased fuel mileage. Both models feature an 800-pound total capacity, seating for two and a 5.9-cubic-foot cargo bed.
