Club Car’s new Carryall 242 Zzooms into entry level utility vehicle market

The entry level utility vehicle market has a new contender: the high-performing Club Car Carryall 242, the most compact, economical utility vehicle in the company’s long history.

“This versatile vehicle replaces the Carryall 232, with significant refinements that reflect customer feedback,” says Kurt Meyer, commercial/industrial marketing manager. “It’s a smart choice for college and medical campuses, security, apartment complexes and many other users.”

Designed to navigate tight, congested areas, the vehicle delivers the tightest turning radius in its class. It also offers the best-in-class ground clearance for clearing curbs, best-in-class speed of 17-19 mph and best-in-class tires. Its tilting bed box carries 800-pounds, and the vehicle is easy to transport and store. In fact, it fits into the back of a pickup truck.

Small Price. Big Power.

With an MSRP starting at just $6,071, the Carryall 242 raises the bar in its market niche and meets the needs of users on tight budgets.

But don’t let the price tag fool you. The gasoline model has the power to get the job done. It’s driven by a Kawasaki FE350 10.4 hp (7.8 kW) engine rated @3600 rpm (per SAE J1349). A seven-gallon gas tank — the largest of any entry level utility vehicle — keeps it going for days on end, without refueling.

For those who prefer to go green, the electric-powered, zero-emissions Carryall 242 features a 48-volt electric system with six 8-volt PowerDrive® batteries. The intelligent IQ® electric drivetrain system delivers great low-end torque, speed and range. An optional Single Point Watering System, which can be built into the vehicle during the manufacturing process, makes battery maintenance quick and easy.

Upgraded Comfort, Style and Function

The only entry level utility vehicle built on a rustproof aluminum frame, the Carryall 242 offers the following improvements over the Carryall 232:

  • More leg room and increased comfort thanks to a shorter, more ergonomically designed dash and a spacious bench seat
  • Pedal-start
  • An improved optional canopy kit with predrilled holes in the cowl that make mounting the canopy and windshield a snap
  • Expanded lighting options
  • Expanded choice of colors: beige, classic blue, dark gray, green, red or white
  • A front cowl with an automotive painted finish for improved color matching with the rear body

Experience Club Car’s Hallmark Performance

The Carryall 242 offers everything users love about Club Car products. Self-adjusting rack-and-pinion steering, front and rear tapered mono-leaf springs with dual hydraulic shocks, and dual rear wheel self-adjusting brakes ensure agility, a smooth ride and unsurpassed performance.

The vehicle comes with an easy to use lift-style tailgate with tools-free removal and a large selection of options and accessories. These include windshields, trailer hitches, wheel covers and the above-mentioned canopy.

And it’s covered by a two-year/2,000-hour consumer limited warranty or a one-year/1,000-hour commercial limited warranty, the longest and strongest in the industry.

Club Car vehicles are sold through a network of Authorized Club Car Dealers. To find a commercial utility vehicle dealer near you, visit www.clubcar.com and select “Dealer Locator.”
