Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association
The Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association passed a major milestone at the end of September with active memberships topping 2,000 for the first time in the association’s 72-year history. As of October 1, total membership stood at 2,003.
The new landmark comes as the association also experiences record levels of industry support for its annual Conference and Trade Show in Myrtle Beach, SC from November 16 to 18.
With more than six weeks to go, booth space on the trade show floor is sold out with a double-digit lineup of companies on a wait list. A record number of companies – 55 versus 45 in 2025 – are also partnering with the association to provide food, prizes and events like the annual golf championship, which attracts more than 400 golfers across four courses.
“All of this means the golf industry is flourishing and that we are lock step with it,” Carolinas GCSA executive director Tim Kreger says. “While we are benefiting from the industry’s growth since the pandemic, we are not simply riding coattails. Where we are today is the result of decades of delivering unparalleled member services and a conference and trade show that is second to none.”
Kreger says quality and affordability are key reasons why the Carolinas GCSA Conference and Show has survived and thrived through an era where many trade shows disappeared.
“And a major reason why can offer such a first-class experience at the price we can is because of the level of support we receive from our industry partners,” he says. “It doesn’t hurt that, compared with many major centers, Myrtle Beach is so affordable in November, and word continues to spread. We had attendees from 29 different states last year.”
