November 9, 2015 – Interest in the annual Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association’s Conference and Show, the largest regional event for superintendents in the country, remains as strong as ever. With less than a week to go until the three-day event in Myrtle Beach, S.C., half of all 28 education seminars are either sold out or have only one or two seats remaining. The trade show floor of almost 400 booth spaces is sold out.
The event from Nov. 16-18 begins with the Carolinas GCSA Golf Championship across three courses at Barefoot Resort with nearly 340 golfers already entered.
“The demand from superintendents and support from industry partners has been fantastic once again,” Carolinas GCSA executive director Tim Kreger says. “Our members had their challenges this year on both sides of the border but that is not keeping them away. The fact that they are still signing up in such high numbers indicates just how much they value both what our educators and our exhibitors have to offer.”
Most recently torrential rains from Hurricane Joaquin flooded many courses in South Carolina from Charleston, to Myrtle Beach and inland to the state capital Columbia. Some courses along coastal eastern North Carolina were also affected. Earlier in the year, the worst onset of winterkill in more than 20 years devastated a number of courses in the Piedmont region of North Carolina.
“Both events remind us that Mother Nature remains firmly in control,” Kreger says. “But the fact that superintendents have already signed up to fill nearly 1,300 education seats at our conference says they are determined to be as well-equipped and up to date as is humanly possible.”
Another service available to show attendees this year, is an expanded app offering new features such as easy scan expense tracking and much more. To download the free app, visit the Carolinas GCSA website at www.carolinasgcsa.org.
