Builder plans golf course at Esplanade

Homebuilder Taylor Morrison plans to develop an 18-hole golf course and related amenities at its Esplanade community beginning early next year, among the more tangible signs to date of the sector’s overall rebound regionwide.

The championship golf course, on 400 acres, would be the region’s first private links since 2008, following a trio of high-profile courses at the Founders Club, the Concession, and at a Lakewood Ranch site developed for the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota’s guests and members.

Taylor Morrison also is expected to add another 800 home sites to the community, which it will rename “Esplanade Golf and Country Club at Lakewood Ranch” early next year.
