Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – owner and operator of more than 120 golf courses, country clubs and resorts – has been retained to manage the semi-private Tomoka Oaks Golf and Country Club in Ormond Beach, FL, 10 minutes north of Daytona Beach.
The engagement increases BCG’s management presence to 10 properties in Florida and 18 in the southeast region.
BCG will oversee all aspects of Tomoka Oaks’ property maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse operations, merchandising, food and beverage, membership programs, marketing and public relations, financial management, golf instruction and special events.
“Billy Casper Golf has a proven track record restoring golf assets to their former luster,” says L. Wayne McClain, President and CEO of Putnam State Bank, owner of Tomoka Oaks. “A soundly-managed course and clubhouse will help make Tomoka Oaks a ‘destination’ golf club.”
“Tomoka Oaks has the physical structure in place to provide members, guests and the public strong golf and social programs,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “The Billy Casper Golf difference will be evident in both immediate and long-term development projects.”
BCG will enroll Tomoka Oaks in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program, ensuring high standards protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of golf. Results include a reduction of maintenance costs, including insurance premiums, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.
Set among magnificent, mature oak trees, Tomoka Oaks offers a challenging 18-hole, 6,745-yard, par-72 layout. The classic design affords many scoring opportunities for golfers despite small, well-protected greens. The practice area consists of a driving range, putting green and large bunker.
