ArborSystems Introducing New Speedchek Punch at TCI Expo

Trees will be treated faster with ArborSystems new SpeedChek™ Punch tool used with the Wedgle Direct-Inject Tree Injection System for injecting chemicals into trees. It will be on display at their exhibit (#1319) during the TCI Expo, the Tree Care Industry Association Show and Conference, Nov. 8 – 10 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C.

“Arborists, urban foresters and tree care professionals can treat almost any tree in five minutes or less as our advanced tree technology system delivers chemicals fast and effectively without drilling damage and virtually no environmental exposure associated with foliage spray, soil injection or drenching,” said Chip Doolittle, president of ArborSystems in Omaha, Neb. “Our newest tool, SpeedChek Punch, uses the WedgeCheks mounted in a long strip similar to a nail gun that uses nails in a strip.”

The Wedgle is the only tree trunk injection application method that does not require a drilled hole. WedgeCheks are used when making tree injections and are inserted in the tree with the SpeedChek Punch for easier use and quicker operation. The Wedgle injection tip is inserted through the WedgeChek to insure that the chemical is placed deep into the active areas where it can be easily absorbed by the tree.

ArborSystems chemicals are used with their Direct-Inject Tree Injection System as an injection into the flare or base of the tree to ensure even distribution through the tree’s vascular system. Chemicals are delivered fast and effectively at a known dose rate. Also, there is no mixing in the field, waiting for uptake of chemicals, guarding during draining process or need for power, pumps or return trips by applicators.

ArborSystems’ chemical product line for pests, diseases and tree health includes Boxer Insecticide (active ingredient Emamectin Benzoate) used for two-year control of Emerald Ash Borer and other insect and mite pests; Retriever Insecticide (active ingredient Acetamiprid) which controls caterpillars, scale and Japanese beetles; Pointer Insecticide that treats Emerald Ash Borer, Hemlock Wooly Adelgids, White Flies, aphids and beetles; and Greyhound Insecticides which controls beetles, caterpillars, mites and nematodes (prevents Pine Wilt disease).

Their systemic fungicide products include Shepherd Fungicide that treats Anthracnose, Diplodia Tip Blight, Dutch Elm disease, Crabapple disease, Oak Wilt disease and other conifer and leaf diseases and Whippet Fungicide that controls phytophthora spp. and Pythium diseases, Sudden Oak Death and Beech Decline.

The antibiotic line includes Terrier Antibiotic that treats Bacterial Leaf Scorch in Elm, Oak, Sycamore, Oleander and Sweet Gum trees; Fire Blight in Mountain Ash trees; Ash Yellows in Ash trees; and Phloem Necrosis in Elm trees (also called Elm Yellow) and Springer Antibiotic for seasonal suppression of lethal yellow disease in palms.

Their plant growth regulator product, Pinscher, is used on ornamental trees to reduce flowering and fruit/seeds production decreasing cleanup and turf maintenance problems without comprising tree health. Their micronutrients product line improves tree health, promotes leaf growth and relieves symptoms of iron chlorosis, manganese deficiency and drought and transplant stress.

ArborSystems Quick-Connect Injection Tips are designed to treat all types of trees including hardwoods, conifers and palms.

“Children and pets are not exposed to chemical spray or open chemical containers and there is no need to cover outdoor toys, play equipment, pools, furniture or vehicles when trees are treated with trunk injections,” said Doolittle. “Tree, turf and ornamental specialist will increase the number of trees treated per day using our system and it is a tree-friendly way to treat trees and plants.”

ArborSystems provides a variety of tree injection systems and insecticides, fungicides, antibiotics, micronutrients and tree growth regulator designed to meet a broad range of tree care needs. They are known for saving thousands of Ash trees from Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) since 2002 as documented by Michigan State University. All of the Wedgle’s hardware components are made in the United States. For more information, visit www.ArborSystems.com.
