The
Nashville Golf and Athletic Club is hosting the 4th annual Nashville Golf
Open, a Web.com event sponsored by the PGA Tour. Tournament dates have again
moved several weeks earlier this year, and the event will be held May 2
through May 5.
Volunteer support is critical to the maintenance operation. Ther routine
during tournament week relies heavily on a large morning crew. Afternoons are a
bit more laid back, with fewer volunteers needed. Morning shifts are scheduled
to begin at 5:00AM and usually last until 8:00AM. Afternoon shifts
are between 4:00PM and 7:00PM. Volunteers are welcome beginning Monday, April
29 through Sunday, May 5. Help is most needed mornings of Thursday May 2,
through Sunday, May 5. Volunteer activities are variable and wide-ranging. Many
thanks to those who have volunteered in previous years! Equipment support has
been outstanding as well, special thanks to those who have helped and are
continuing to provide mowers, vehicles etc.
This year Mr. Paul Vermeulen will be back at Nashville Golf and Athletic
Club. He has recently been promoted to the Vice President of Agronomy on the
PGA Tour. He is a wealth of knowledge, and will be helping to oversee
maintenance activities at the course while on site during advance week, and the
first half of tournament week.
The Nashville Golf and Athletic Club is happy to provide free food, free
tickets, free t-shirts, and a free round of golf to volunteers. A
“Volunteer of the Year” award will also be presented at the
conclusion of the tournament.
