Advan LLC enters the turf plant growth regulator market with two turf PGR product introductions

Advan LLC enters the plant growth regulator market for turf with two new product introductions: Groom™ PGR for managing turf growth and Tide Paclo 2SC ornamental plant growth regulator for managing the growth of both turfgrass and trees.

Robert Yarborough, T&O Business Unit Manager, said, “Groom and Tide Paclo are two great PGRs. And with their addition to our product line, Advan now has one of the deepest and most diverse product lines for turf on the market, which includes fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, a soil fumigant, plant nutrients and a line of biopesticides.”

Groom, which has the same active ingredient as Primo®, manages the growth of warm- and cool-season turfgrasses. Slower growth results in reduced frequency of mowing and fewer amounts of grass clippings. Use of Groom increases turf density, color and turf quality on residential and commercial lawns, golf courses, sod farms, sports fields and cemeteries.

Tide Paclo is a systemic plant growth regulator that slows vegetative growth by inhibiting gibberellin biosynthesis in turfgrass and trees. It slows the vertical growth of turf within three to 10 days, which allows crews to reduce mowing frequency for a six- to eight-week period. After use of Tide Paclo (paclobutrazol), turf gradually becomes greener and denser for up to 12 weeks.
For trees, Tide Paclo reduces above-ground vegetative growth when applied to the soil near the base of the tree either by soil injection or with a basil soil drench.

Headquartered in Roswell, GA and operated from Columbia, MD, Advan LLC supplies plant protection products that fill specialty niches in the U.S. and Mexico horticultural and agricultural markets.
